Qatar Central Bank Sees 3.89% Rise in Foreign Reserves for July

Qatar, 10 August, 2024 :  The Qatar Central Bank (QCB) reported a 3.89% year-on-year increase in its foreign currency reserves and liquidity, reaching QR250.981 billion in July 2024, up from QR241.572 billion in July 2023.

The QCB’s official reserves rose by QR9.038 billion to QR192.157 billion, driven by a QR1.091 billion increase in holdings of foreign bonds and treasury bills, totaling QR138.697 billion. 

Key components of the reserves include bonds, foreign treasury bills, gold, Special Drawing Rights (SDR), and Qatar's share in the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Gold reserves increased by QR8.551 billion to QR30.682 billion. However, balances with foreign banks fell by QR457 million to QR17.610 billion, and SDR deposits decreased by QR147 million to QR5.166 billion.
