Oman, 27 November, 2024 : The Public Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development (PASME) hosted a dialogue session in Muscat today, focused on enhancing the role of SMEs in Oman’s special economic and free zones.
Key stakeholders, including government officials, financial institutions, and SME owners, discussed strategies to encourage innovation, attract investment, and improve the business environment for SMEs. Topics included legislation, financing mechanisms, investment opportunities, and licensing requirements in these zones.
Statistics show that 545 SMEs currently operate across 192 activities in Oman's economic zones. The session, attended by prominent figures like Sheikh Dr. Ali bin Masoud al Sunaidi and Her Excellency Halima bint Rashid al Zar’iah, highlighted Oman’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurship and driving economic diversification.
